A new Centre for eEducation From: Global Email Date: Thu, 15 May 2008 08:18:05 +1000 To: All Monash Staff A message from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), Professor Adam Shoemaker ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Colleagues, A new Centre for eEducation has been founded under the umbrella of the Education portfolio in order to establish Monash as a clear national leader in innovative and effective learning, teaching and collaboration technologies. The Centre will support and nurture the use of technologies as enablers of innovative teaching and learning approaches and will foster collaborative and cooperative efforts amongst teaching staff. Established on an initial 3-year basis, the Centre will work with students, faculties and service divisions to support the development and adoption of eEducation technologies and services. I am very pleased to be able to announce the appointment of Professor Gordon Sanson as founding Director of this Centre. Professor Sanson comes to this role from his position as the Head of the School of Biological Sciences in the Faculty of Science. He brings with him a unique set of skills as an educator, leader and innovator and is committed to improving student engagement at all levels. Professor Sanson will be located in Building 3A, room 116. I am sure you will join me in welcoming him to this new role.
