About Acknowledgement
Acknowledgement is a set of resources to support university staff to undertake continuing professional development about academic honesty and integrity issues, especially issues of originality and plagiarism.
Acknowledgement is organised around the work practices of university staff, across the spectrum of university academic teaching and research activities, including:
- Acknowledging the work of others
- Writing up your own work
- Reviewing and publishing work done by peers
- Supervising and examining research students
- Teaching students from diverse backgrounds
- Designing and conducting student assessment
- Developing and disseminating learning resources
- Handling student or staff misconduct
Acknowledgement was commissioned in 2005-2006 by the Melbourne Monash Committee for Collaboration in Educational Technologies, to address high-level priorities at both universities, namely to encourage among staff:
- observance of legal obligations, policies and procedures
- reflective practice and quality in scholarly and scientific work
- innovation and excellence in advancing academic integrity
Acknowledgement is available on the web sites of both Monash University and The University of Melbourne for public, non-commercial educational use.
The Melbourne Monash Committee for Collaboration in Educational Technologies (MMCCET) welcomes feedback and enquiries about Acknowledgement. Please contact the Committee by emailing Plagiarism-Project@unimelb.edu.au
